Who We Are
Charles City Citizens First started as a group of concerned community members who are against rezoning of agricultural and residential land in order to place up to eight data center buildings on 515 acers in Charles City County, Virginia.
What’s Our Why
Charles City County has been toying with the idea for a couple years about incorporating data centers into their portfolio of taxable revenue. While we understand the value and need of data centers, we are concerned about placing them in residential neighborhoods instead of in already designated industrial zoned areas of the county where they would be much more appropriate.
Our values
It is our immediate goal to ensure the Charles City County Board of Supervisors does not approve the rezoning of residential and agricultural land.
Long term, our goal is to ensure as few residents as possible are directly affected by the installation of data centers.
